There’s a difference between a pub having some “old school” character about it, and the people here just being rude and unlikeable. This place falls into the latter I’m afraid. I’ve been in less than a handful of times. One of these times I was with a group of us employees from the pub next door, we just fancied a crawl around the oadby pubs. We were informed we weren’t welcome. No other pub had a problem. If you’re not a regular, don’t expect to get in some nights, as the doors get locked and bolted randomly and only regulars stay in. This can be as early as 9 some nights.

Not many young people are here when me and my girlfriend drink here (24) and (27), which is actually quite nice because the night starts out chilling with lovely staff and people around you, then they whip out the karaoke machine and good times get rolling! No places in the area to go after last orders except town.

Staff rude, some of the patrons the same (had incidents where bar mats and pens were thrown at me), cash only as far as I know which for a drinking establishment in 2019 is unacceptable in my opinion. Definitely not the spot for anyone on the younger side I'm afraid to say.

I was apauled by the looks I got when entering this place . Everyone staff and patrons in the pub gave my friends and I hostile looks as soon as we had entered and they didn't even want out custom as we tried to pay and they "only accept card". Got shouted at by the bar lady for doing absolutely nothing and rushed to say we either need to buy or leave.

Not many pubs left with a the old skool feeling of a proper boozer. May not be modern like alot of other places .but it doesnt lack character.deffo a walk down memory lane when I first started drinking as a teenager 30 years ago.
