This is a true account of my experience with Nick, Sales Manager at Braunstone and the purchase of a used Red SEAT. Bought the car in July based on the description and photos. It took over 6 weeks for it to be ready for collection. Finally, I went to pick it up and drive back home to Scotland. Within 10 minutes the oil engine light came on. I returned to Braunstone. They couldn't fix it and sent it to their garage for repair. A month went by--the garage ordered the wrong part, delays etc. Finally Nick told me it was ready. He made a point of saying, "The garage as a courtesy replaced the water pump and timing belt." Well, that was interesting, because Manny, our original sales guy, claimed the timing belt and pump had already been replaced according to original owner records. He put it on a truck and shipped it north. A few weeks later we were driving in Edinburgh- Smoke coming from the engine. Pulled over quickly. Radiator empty. Hose came free from a poorly tightened clamp. Then a month later, we noticed the coolant level was low. Went to local garage. The water pump was leaking and worn out. So, timing belt and water pump replaced. The garage showed me the parts. The water pump was ancient. The timing belt was an original volkswagen belt, not something anyone would put in as a replacement. Worn and frayed edges. Bottom line: Nick flat out lied to me or the garage flat lied to him. I wrote about this asking for recompense and to tell me the truth. Crickets. Hence posting this review. Buyer beware of anything Braunstone says. They are untrustworthy based on my experience.
